Credits & Notes

  P. Thornton Marye, [pilaster capital]
  • Please note that all works are copyrighted by their respective artists or designers.
  • All images in this guide are digital photographs. They are not color correct, nor, in some cases, are they fully representative of the entire piece due to space constraints.
  • The default artwork descriptions are intentionally brief with the idea of being completed in the future by students enrolled in art courses.
  • If you choose to use one of these images for any reason, please be sure to include proper citation. If you're unsure how to do this, we're happy to help!

Locating by Map

Artwork by Location
You can find artwork according to its location in the library in a couple of ways:
  1. Go to the "Full Floor Maps" tab, hover your mouse over the relevant map, and click on the section you want after it's highlighted in green with its label
  2. Go directly to the relevant map section tab (such as "Entrance & Circulation," etc.)

Locating by Artist Name

Artwork by Artist Name
You can also look for artwork according to the name of the artist or designer.
  • The "Artist List" tab provides an alphabetical list, according to last name, in two columns (A-L & M-Z)
  • Unknown artists are broken down into type (artist, creator, designer, photographer, sculptor)
  • Links to the relevant map section tabs are provided to the right of the artists' names

Selecting Individual Works

Locate Specific Artwork
Once you choose a main map section, there are a few options for locating specific pieces:
  1. Hover your mouse over a gold dot; the image map will provide the number, title, and artist; click the dot to open the "Artwork Details" tab ("68 | Autumn Landscape, John Joseph Enneking")
  2. Click on one of the links for the artist name ("John Joseph Enneking")
  3. Click on one of the tabs themselves ("Enneking")
  4. Some artists have multiple pieces; scroll down the "Artwork Details" tabbed box to be sure you have the right one (Enneking has two in the "Entrance & Circulation" section: 58 | South Pond, Hyde Park and 68 | Autumn Landscape)
